Boma Hot Spring
Located in rural area known only to locals in Boma village 71 km from Arusha, the hot springs earn their name from their perfect temperature. Treat yourself with the natural exfoliation therapy provided by the tiny little Garra Rufa fish living in the pool. Also known as the Rundugai Hot Water Springs or Chemka (boil in Swahili), the hot springs are a welcoming surprise in the midst of a miniature forest.
Materuni Waterfalls
The Materuni Waterfall are a breathtaking display of nature at its best as waters cascade into a deep plunge. Materuni is the tallest waterfall in the area at 70m from the top of its fall to its basin. A truly spectacular site worth the steep and slippery hike from the Materuni village sitting under Mount Kilimanjaro.
Elephant Caves in Karatu
Visiting the Elephant caves is a worthwhile experience for hikers, especially when undertaken with a knowledgeable guide to share the historical uses of the flora and fauna species as medicine and ailments. If you are lucky, you will see the elephant in their comfort zone scrubbing their backs and spending genuine quality time together.
Amboni Caves in Tanga
Located 8 km from Tanga, the Amboni Caves are the star of one of Tanzania’s coastal cities. You can decide whether to start with a tour of the city’s historic buildings and Kiomoni village or explore the town’s lime making and local brewing.
Lake Manyara National Park
A small vibrant Park not far from Mto wa Mbu with welcoming locals, this shallow soda lake takes up about two-thirds of Manyara National Park and is the water source for the elegant flamingoes, various other bird species, giraffe buffalos, antelopes, and cheeky primates in the park. Tarangire National Park
Tarangire National Park sits along the Great Rift Valley’s rolling hills. This is home to some of the largest elephant numbers in Tanzania. The famous baobab trees are scattered across the Tarangire plains in all shapes and sizes.
Ngorongoro Crater
Home to over 30,000 animals, the caldera floor is a fertile place for the gazelles, buffalo, warthog, eland, hartebeests, elephants, and lions to flourish. The drive down the 600m slope will surely give you something to write home about with its scenery and vegetation.
